In the 1950's

It was the sisters birthday today, and in our not very rock 'n' roll style we went to see a small 50's exhibition going on in the Shire Hall Gallery in Stafford. It was really cute, fitted out with bubble gum pink walls. I liked it very much because they had modern artists being featured that worked in a retro style. These jugs at the bottom were an example of that. I loved them. I wished it was my birthday!

Nicola wont be homesick.

Here is my finished custom item for Nicola. I am soo happy with it, it's definitely better than my first one I made ( practice really does make perfect). I hope she likes it too.

It hangs so well and I just love the way the scrabble tile just finishes it off.

If you could like a custom item like this, just contact me with some items you'd like illustrated.

If only...

If only tennis was actually this glamourous. I might be inclined to play more often.

Found here.

Handle with care

I am soooo tempted to buy a some of these hand blow glass jewellery by Jean Pelle. They look so so gorgeous, so simple, so atmospheric.

I just fear I am too clumsy!

More jewellery love by Grainne Morton. These gorgeous pieces are really the way to create items with vintage pieces. I love the cheeky charm and delicious colour palette. These are true works of art.

Cooking up something nice.

I am just finishing some cooking, but not literally! These are some teasers for a new project I am working on, but not alone. All this cooking will make sense soon.

Keep checking out my blog to find out more!

Never homesick

Here is a sneaky peek of a custom "never homesick" necklace. This one is inspired by the one I made for myself but these items have all be chosen by the customer! She has some super cute items and I hope she'll never be homesick when she's away.

If you would like a custom necklace, just give me an email with your ideas and I'll give you a quote.

Drum roll please!

Apologies for the delay in drawing a winner for my giveaway - I just wanted to add some real suspence to the occasion!

So this time I decided on drawing in the old fashion way, I used the random generator before, but there just isn't that pazzaz when the winner is revealed. So I wrote out all all the names and neatly folded them, then placed them in a vintage wooden shaker which the BF's parents use to draw the lottery.

So here is me shaking up the names.

Here is me drawing the names.

And here is me picking the winner ..... who is ANNA - from ZennithZark!

Congratulations to you Anna, I hope you enjoy the items!

Too old for cake?

It's the BF's birthday today at a very dandy age of just 23. We haven't really got up to much, he's been full of cold so just stayed in to watch the very intense tennis.

The BF's parents are a tad old fashioned, but this can be good and I soon found out after they regularly enjoy a good old English tea time. His mum often bakes, some good, some clearly an experiment but never the less all exciting. On birthdays she really goes all out baking and bakes a birthday cake, maybe two! I've had some amazing ones from her also.

I always think, that no matter how old you are a birthday cake and some refreshing tea is probably the bit you look forward to most. Infact I do think the desire for cake just blooms with age!

I'll never be homesick now.

I've put it all together now, so I can sit back and relax! I hope you like it, just needs something extra under the pencil and I think that will be fully complete. A kitchen theme is definitely on the cards for my next personal crafting.

Please excuse the skin - I'm still recovering from a previous sun burn on march, when I accidently wore no sun cream and got my telephone necklace in printed on my skin. Doh.

What's in your living room?

These are some charms I have created to make myself a necklace. Not too sure what inspired me, perhaps just they are all things you wouldn't usually get on a necklace. I illustrated things you find around the home, generally in the lounge (perhaps I will make a kitchen one too!). Some items are from what is in my actually living room, like the chair, pile of books, scissors and banana (always bananas in the fruit bowl) and the other things like the shade, key and pencil are things I assumed you would find in a living room.

I'll show you the final piece soon, when I've hung it all together!

Also just wondering if anyone would like to swap for this jewellery tree. I forgot I had it, and found it the other day. I think it is sweet and would look dandy with earrings on it at a craft fair. I don't think it goes with my "branding" but I'm sure there are some nice organic looking items out there ready to be worn on it. It's about 7 inches tall. Just leave me a comment if you're interested. Thanks!
