Fancy Tea Swap

Hello everyone,

Today I have decided to throw my first every swap. And of course it had to be tea related!

So here we are with the Fancy Tea Swap.

I love trying all types of tea, but I can't buy them all and I never know whether I would like them or not, so I thought this would be the perfect swap for me and like minded folks.

I know there are lots of swaps going around at the moment especially xmas ones, but this swap is really really super easy and not much effort required but lots to gain.

To be part of my swap all you have to do is:

  • Love tea.
  • Love trying different tea.
  • Email me over your name & address & the teas you have tried before to shedraws[at]hotmail.com
  • Send at least 5 different tea bags or loose leaf tea samples to your swapping partner.
  • A tea related extra of low value like stickers, card, tags etc.
  • And finally enjoy!
This swap is open until 4th November to sign up and then until the 14th of November to send out the tea.

Yay! I can't wait.

Too old for cake?

It's the BF's birthday today at a very dandy age of just 23. We haven't really got up to much, he's been full of cold so just stayed in to watch the very intense tennis.

The BF's parents are a tad old fashioned, but this can be good and I soon found out after they regularly enjoy a good old English tea time. His mum often bakes, some good, some clearly an experiment but never the less all exciting. On birthdays she really goes all out baking and bakes a birthday cake, maybe two! I've had some amazing ones from her also.

I always think, that no matter how old you are a birthday cake and some refreshing tea is probably the bit you look forward to most. Infact I do think the desire for cake just blooms with age!

Tea time swap!

I did my third swap at the end of March. It was a tea time swap and I just had to get involved. I am tea mad, I love most teas and many of my makes have been tea related so this was right up my street. Vonnie put me with Annie B who was also tea mad, and we seemed like a perfect match. Infact these swaps sometimes are a bit like blind date!

Well this date/swap went really well and I made some nice things for Annie. I custom made a coaster with a paper cut out of tea cups and spoons. There was some slight spoil from the resin soaking into the paper but I really liked the way it turned out and some coasters are in my factory waiting to be put on Folksy. I also made her some tea time buttons and sent her some prints of my tea time illustrations. Unfortunately due to some morons at the Royal
Mail Annie B didn't received everything I sent! I am upset for her.

Anyway to the best bit, she send me some amazing things. A soya candle in a vintage tea cup with saucer which was fab, and I light it each night. Just a really nice gift. She also custom made me a tea cosy for my tea pot and it fits perfectly so teapot is very happy and my BF loves it too. I also received lots of nice tea and wrap so I am very grateful it was a brilliant swap.

Bargains

Just thought I would share the bargain I found today! Just browsing the charity shops and whilst at the till I found these beauties and instantly recognized the brand Ray Ban. After a quick look I purchased these for just 75p! After a bit of research too I found that they are indeed true Vintage Ray Bans with a similar pair on ebay going to £55! They're super cute, super 50's black cats eye sunglasses and definitely worth keeping!
I photographed these on a drawing a I have just finished, all about lovely tea.

Enjoy!
