Snap snap

I'm a massive fan of visiting cities rather than beaches and so this was the inspiration for my new polaroid charm necklace which is finally in my shop.

I've not visited all of the places that I illustrated but I sure hope to one day!

Have you guys been to any or all of them?

A little spring sale is going on in my shop at the moment to make room for new designs so please take advantage!

Can someone make me this?

I love this cardigan/jacket thing from Anthropologie and I was super excited to find out they had gone EU, but unfortunately after searching their listings it was not there so I emailed them to find out whether they would be stocking it at all. The nice lady replied but told me they are not due to have it and not everything from the US site would be transfered over.

I still love this top and I can picture it with everything, but to get it over from the US it reaches nearly £100 and I can't really afford that.

I know this is a bit cheeky but just wondering if there is anyone out there who can make me one similar?

This is the listing so you can check out the fabrics and back shape. It's made from Rayon, but i'd be happy with a jersey or viscose.

I hope there is someone out there to do this for me so please get in touch with quotes!

Thanks :)

It's a new year!

So I am wishing you all a very happy New Year and I hope you are enjoying it so far, especially with the snooow!

I have so many new things planned for this year and many of those are going into my shop! To start you all off I have got some new designs ready made as buttons but you'll soon see these over many other items which are still in the making.

My favourite new design is the jellies, which unfortunately haven't photographed very well as button form but I hope I can get some pics to justify their pop party qualities.

I am also going to start yoga next month to bring a bit of peace to my life and some focus perhaps to open my mind and create lots of nice new things, which also brings me to mention I think I have challenged myself to creating an illustration a day to get the ball rolling at least. I'm not sure if i'll be uploading them here, I'm just not sure yet however they are on my flickr at the moment if you'd like to take a peek.

Just a little update.

Just as Christmas is getting into full swing I am thinking ahead to the new year and dying to get out my new designs! I am really excited about my new designs and I have made some into buttons already, but they will eventually be printed onto lots of things like bags, cards, tea towels etc so look out for them in 2010 when my very own ecommerce website should also be launched. How exciting??

Also, the Folksy shop has been very busy and now I have many things that are now the last one and I won't be printing anymore before xmas so if you are wanting to buy them as a gift, better get them quick! We just have one green tea time kitchen linen left, with all the others limited stock and just one size medium mr.britain blue tshirt and again limited stock on all the others!

And if you haven't got your Christmas cards yet, or need a few more I still have some packs left and now just £5.

Now, must get back to my new designs!

Happy Christmas shopping.

Tshirt PRE ORDER for you...

I am offering all my blog friends a pre order for my Mr Britain screen printed tshirt, which will be great for an xmas gift for the guys in your life (my dad, my boyfriend & his brother will all be getting these for xmas!). At the moment they are just for the guys, although all your girls can still wear them oversized with a belt & some rolled up sleeves.

My special *pre order* price is just £10 instead of the usual £14 so grab yourself a real bargain! See here for all the details.

There is a choice of 2 colours, navy with a sky blue print and forest green with a olive green print. They come in 3 sizes, S, M & L and they will be printed on a soft feel classic style tshirt as shown below.

Knocking at 78.

78 Derngate that is, the previous home of Bassett Lowke and his wife, but decorated by the quite unpopular at the time, Charles Rennie Mackintosh. After being at uni in Northampton for 3 years I never went, until now, after I have finished. Better late than never I guess.

Anyway tucked away, disguised inside a victorian 3 storey terraced house lies a magical land of design. It is so fabulous, you just wouldn't believe what is behind that black door. The whole places was designed with Rennie Mackintosh (or in the case of some rooms, his advice) and most items were handcrafted especially for the occasion.

The interior, is laden with Mackintosh's love for squares and super modernist flowers and triangles. It's a small place, but is especially convenient with mod cons such as mock mosaic tile wall paper in the bathroom and huge trellis style stair bannisters cleverly disguised as hand rails. It is just so surprising to see, it really did take my breath away and actually made me think twice about using black in a interior, which to my own surprise looked so cosy and calm and what I imagine would be such a tranquil place to live.

Unfortunately no pictures were allowed and so I had to borrow these ones from the internet. Even the website doesn't supply you with any, just a 3D tour, but I hope I have assured you that any time you might be passing through Northampton town please stop off and see this grand design. The food must be good too as the somewhat small restaurant was full up to the point they had no room for us to eat. Next time maybe, and I'll make the visit in time for tea too!

Meriwether.

May I introduce you to Prof. Augustus Meriwether and his fabulous new Emporium.

I did this banner and avatar for Gloria to help her open her new shop selling steampunk jewellery. Prof. Meriwether himself was kindly bought to life by my boyfriend.

I hope you like them and go and take a look around the shop, it's open!

A new face....

Rachel behind Glamglass gifts recently asked me to help out with freshening up her identity. She makes lots of nice jewellery things, mostly glass pendants and accessories. She made some amazing glass sculptures (that remind me of the shape of coral reefs) and she wanted these to represent her shops, so I helped her transform her ideas into a logo and banner for her. This logo was based on my favourite of her glass sculptures - with embedded colourful millefiore glass it was perfect because of the bright and interesting shapes. I hope that this logo and banner shows her unique and funky side which is reflected in her patternations and colour combos fused inside the glass. If you would like to see these logos in action, pop over to www.glamglassgifts.com or find her on folksy glamglass.folksy.com!

And please remember that if anyone is in need of a little design help, then I would be happy to take that job under my wing and so just get in touch!
