Iv Orlov

I love these super retro illustrations by Iv Orlov (which look almost like real vintage illustrations!).

Found here.

Must be love

I guess my new years resolution this year was to draw more.

I'd love to get my work published and I love creating cards and stationary so i'm not quite sure why I slowed the pace down.

Well I am keeping to my resolution and I've started drawing almost everyday, something new at least and I have been churning out some things I am quite pleased with including this wedding invitation design. I used to draw like this a lot, but then stopped a bit but I love creating all the tiny images as every time you look you at it you see something new!

I might even make some of the drawings into buttons for wedding favors or napkin decoration.

Anyone having a wedding? We can pretend can't we?

It's a new year!

So I am wishing you all a very happy New Year and I hope you are enjoying it so far, especially with the snooow!

I have so many new things planned for this year and many of those are going into my shop! To start you all off I have got some new designs ready made as buttons but you'll soon see these over many other items which are still in the making.

My favourite new design is the jellies, which unfortunately haven't photographed very well as button form but I hope I can get some pics to justify their pop party qualities.

I am also going to start yoga next month to bring a bit of peace to my life and some focus perhaps to open my mind and create lots of nice new things, which also brings me to mention I think I have challenged myself to creating an illustration a day to get the ball rolling at least. I'm not sure if i'll be uploading them here, I'm just not sure yet however they are on my flickr at the moment if you'd like to take a peek.

Tshirt PRE ORDER for you...

I am offering all my blog friends a pre order for my Mr Britain screen printed tshirt, which will be great for an xmas gift for the guys in your life (my dad, my boyfriend & his brother will all be getting these for xmas!). At the moment they are just for the guys, although all your girls can still wear them oversized with a belt & some rolled up sleeves.

My special *pre order* price is just £10 instead of the usual £14 so grab yourself a real bargain! See here for all the details.

There is a choice of 2 colours, navy with a sky blue print and forest green with a olive green print. They come in 3 sizes, S, M & L and they will be printed on a soft feel classic style tshirt as shown below.

Never homesick

Here is a sneaky peek of a custom "never homesick" necklace. This one is inspired by the one I made for myself but these items have all be chosen by the customer! She has some super cute items and I hope she'll never be homesick when she's away.

If you would like a custom necklace, just give me an email with your ideas and I'll give you a quote.

I'll never be homesick now.

I've put it all together now, so I can sit back and relax! I hope you like it, just needs something extra under the pencil and I think that will be fully complete. A kitchen theme is definitely on the cards for my next personal crafting.

Please excuse the skin - I'm still recovering from a previous sun burn on march, when I accidently wore no sun cream and got my telephone necklace in printed on my skin. Doh.

Hello new year!

I have just made my first ever animal illustration. I'm not really big on people or animals when i'm drawing. I've never felt I had the "cute" or "interesting" factor when portraying them. I always opt for still life as I feel I do those best, but I thought I should at least give it another go. This is my new fox!

I recently bought some fab wrapping paper from Ikea and thought the colours would be great to make a little fox from it. I bought an orange and red patterned one, but I also bought a double sided paper with black and grey stripes on one side and black and grey spots on the other. It is truely amazing! It's an ingenious idea, and I say we all should get some.

Goodbye old year!

I'm kind of glad to see the back of old 2008, perhaps 2009 with hold more promising moments for me. I have lots to achieve in this coming year, so it better be kind!

Today, whilst everyone is scrapping the ice off their cars I have been busy working on my website again, which I haven't updated in a while and to share the love I am having a bit of a sale on some of my items. By selling some nice items, I will be able to make even more nice items! YAY! I have also added my new range of cards and other pieces of jewellery which I featured yesterday.

I also dug out this illustration I did a while ago. What do you think of it? I think I will put it on some cards and things. I'm not sure. I'm a bit out of touch with my illustrations at the moment and I really should get the ball rolling. Seeing other peoples blogs has got me inspired. Perhaps I should dig out other unfinished business!
