Snap snap

I'm a massive fan of visiting cities rather than beaches and so this was the inspiration for my new polaroid charm necklace which is finally in my shop.

I've not visited all of the places that I illustrated but I sure hope to one day!

Have you guys been to any or all of them?

A little spring sale is going on in my shop at the moment to make room for new designs so please take advantage!

Mr britain wants to come and stay with you!

Now my shop is up and running and I have started to blog again (hurrah) and so I thought maybe I should give you guys a giveaway for the chance to win one of my new designs.... Mr Britain!

Mr Britain would like to come and stay with you, and he can be yours with just one condition. In return for winning Mr Britain I am very gratefully asking you, the lucky person to do a photo diary of you and him and the adventure you go on within the week. This only has to be a couple of photos and a quick description so we can read all about it on my blog at a later date. We all want to see what he gets up to, so I hope the winner will be a dedicated one. It would be fabulous if he gets to go on holiday, or on a special museum trip.

I hope you'll all want to take part as it is as simple as commenting this post until the Monday 5th of October and any tweets about this will also get extra entries (just remember to comment below to say you've tweeted and also add @shedraws to the tweet). Also please leave an email address with your comment so I can contact you when the winner is drawn.

Open to all folk in the UK and overseas.

Enjoy!

Nicola wont be homesick.

Here is my finished custom item for Nicola. I am soo happy with it, it's definitely better than my first one I made ( practice really does make perfect). I hope she likes it too.

It hangs so well and I just love the way the scrabble tile just finishes it off.

If you could like a custom item like this, just contact me with some items you'd like illustrated.

Never homesick

Here is a sneaky peek of a custom "never homesick" necklace. This one is inspired by the one I made for myself but these items have all be chosen by the customer! She has some super cute items and I hope she'll never be homesick when she's away.

If you would like a custom necklace, just give me an email with your ideas and I'll give you a quote.

I'll never be homesick now.

I've put it all together now, so I can sit back and relax! I hope you like it, just needs something extra under the pencil and I think that will be fully complete. A kitchen theme is definitely on the cards for my next personal crafting.

Please excuse the skin - I'm still recovering from a previous sun burn on march, when I accidently wore no sun cream and got my telephone necklace in printed on my skin. Doh.

What's in your living room?

These are some charms I have created to make myself a necklace. Not too sure what inspired me, perhaps just they are all things you wouldn't usually get on a necklace. I illustrated things you find around the home, generally in the lounge (perhaps I will make a kitchen one too!). Some items are from what is in my actually living room, like the chair, pile of books, scissors and banana (always bananas in the fruit bowl) and the other things like the shade, key and pencil are things I assumed you would find in a living room.

I'll show you the final piece soon, when I've hung it all together!

Also just wondering if anyone would like to swap for this jewellery tree. I forgot I had it, and found it the other day. I think it is sweet and would look dandy with earrings on it at a craft fair. I don't think it goes with my "branding" but I'm sure there are some nice organic looking items out there ready to be worn on it. It's about 7 inches tall. Just leave me a comment if you're interested. Thanks!

Giveaway

Later on this evening I will announce the winner of my very first giveaway. This was open to anyone and you can still enter (if you haven't already) by signing up to my mailing list at glueandglitter.co.uk. Anyone on my list will automatically be added to the random.org generator so it is very simple to be a part of it!

This is the necklace that is up for grabs.

This particular design hasn't been for sale yet, and so you'll be the first to set eyes on it. I hope you like it. It's a very sweet white bow, a sister to the red I have for
sale and is hung on a gold plated chain.

I will let the winner know tomorrow, just to really bring the excitement to boiling point!

I have also been working on finishing some other illustration jewellery and the two swaps that I am involved with. The owl swap and the button swap. I can't reveal too much, just incase someone is reading this! But I am happy the way they are going so far anyway.

I managed to grab the attention of a local magazine and they have decided they would like to meet with me and do a feature in a magazine! I am quite excited but also a bit scared especially when she mentioned a photographer! I don't mind being photographed but I don't like it either. Haha. And the thought of me posing is really cringe worthy. Who ever said capricorns make good actresses? This one doesn't that is for sure.

I also have some much needed work experience next week thanks to my cousin. And hopefully I will be driving there in my new car, my very first new car, after 4  years of having a driving licence! Yay. Perhaps people might take me a little more seriously now and hopefully accept me into the professional job world.

However I have been making some new jewellery, some charm necklaces in fact. I decided to dig out all the vintage bits and pieces I had and do what I do best - compile them together! It suddenly clicked that I should combine my own illustration charms with these vintage charms and so this is the first one.

This one is a bit Rococo or Baroque style. I used some vintage shell buttons and vintage beads combined with my ornate frame and cameo illustration charms. I've just ordered some gloss/varnish type stuff as recommended by Pennydog and so I might use that to seal in some vintage images on the frames. I often put something together and take it apart as I have decided to add something to it.

I'll get some of my other charms necklaces on soon!
