In the 1950's

It was the sisters birthday today, and in our not very rock 'n' roll style we went to see a small 50's exhibition going on in the Shire Hall Gallery in Stafford. It was really cute, fitted out with bubble gum pink walls. I liked it very much because they had modern artists being featured that worked in a retro style. These jugs at the bottom were an example of that. I loved them. I wished it was my birthday!

Show me your shoes - Johanna

Todays shoes are from the ever so vintage young lady Johanna. She has a fabulous wardrobe and here are her shoes.

She says:

These shoes used to belong to my aunt and I think they were bought in the 70s. They're the perfect pair of espadrilles to me, I've never seen a better looking pair. They're actually a tiny bit too big for me, but I can wear them anyway because of the straps. I've been wearing them since I was twelve or something.

I think the age just shows how charming and wearable vintage items are!

Show me your shoes - Chrissy

We back to the shoes this week and Chrissy has started us off with her bargain!

She says:

"£1 primark shoes - shame on me :( They're actually very cute fake leather with rustic brass buckles so I feel like a really cool librarian :) (and also, no cows had to die, unlike most of my DMs)."

I don't think you can go wrong with £1 shoes, even if they were to do the gardening in!

Get in touch if you would like to show us your shoes!

Show me your shoes - Cathryn Dean

Cathryn Dean couldn't show us just one pair so she sent us three!

She says:

"You see the brown boots are my favorite flat shoes, they are made by RocketDog and are super comfy and not at all like the slouchy horrid boots that have no heel support, these have heel support and a good thick sole!

And the black ones are favorites for general smart wear and hanging out with friends, they look great with skinny jeans but probably don't get polished as much as they should.

But the pink ones, now they have a special use. They don't get worn out terribly often partly because they are quite high heeled and I can't totter far in them and partly because, well they are Very pink and I don't have many clothes to compliment them.

But they have a great use, they are my feel good shoes, Oh yes when I'm feeling down i throw on these and my tutu and put on some good old fashioned Motown and I'm instantly happy again!

So there you have it my favorite shoes. Sorry it wasn't one pair, heehe.

Please get in touch with your shoes! We don't have anyone for next week and I don't want to let you down. It's so fun seeing everyone shoes, so please email pics and descriptions to Laura @glueandglitter.co.uk. Thanks!

Show me your shoes - Dotty one

The Dotty one shows us her shoes.

She says:

"I love these shoes because they make me feel like a little kid again - they are comfy and light and summery and never fail to make me feel happy. One of my friends said I was too old to wear them. Maybe I am but I don't care because they make me smile and what's wrong with skipping down the road pretending you are 12 again anyway?!"

There is a little girl in all of us somewhere and I say go for it!

Again we have very practical shoes, which are all very nice and very good, but I think it's time we saw your impractical side!

Send me your shoes and a short description to Laura@glueandglitter.co.uk. C'mon girls I know you must have some!

Show me your shoes - Hannah

This weeks shoes are from the very nice Hannah at Spans Stitchin'.

She says:

"I thought I'd show you what I wore to my sisters wedding. I love them so much that

I've worn them nearly every time I have left the house since :)"

This is fabulous news Hannah as let's say sometimes she can't get out of the house as much as she would like, she's doing well recently though! And I"m sure these nice shoes are a real encouragement.

Also go and check Hannah's blog out as she is trying to help raise money for a very close friend Charity walk.

Let me see your shoes, just email me! Address is over there ----->

Show me your shoes - Triona

Triona is our volunteer for this weeks shoes, you can find her cute blog here at winter tree.

She says:

"I LOVE shoes - having sometimes been a bit overweight, shoes have always been my friends when clothes became sworn enemies. No matter how bad the scales are, your feet don't get fat, so I think my love for all things shoe-like comes from that. These I bought the other day in my local shoe store, after coveting them for all of 3 days - HAD to have them, and the beauty of them is that they are sooooo comfy - I love admiring those stunning shoes with towering heels but I cannot do high heels - just not able, but these are best of all worlds - height + comfort = one tall and happy stepper.

And, let's face it, they are so cute too, or at least I think so !"

I think so too Triona, love the pop of colour! We are seeing a lot of comfy and stylish looking practical shoes ladies! I am pretty impressed.

I am now intrigued to see those not so wearable shoes. Who has a pair of fab but impractical shoes, you just can't wear them, or bare to part with them? Let us see them! Email me ----->

Show me your shoes - Magicalice

This weeks shoe exposure is Jennifer at Magicalice.

She says:

"Here are my favourite party shoes...I found these shoes about 4 years ago in Topshop, I remember the day quite clearly as they didn't have my size in stock and I went to every Topshop in Glasgow looking for a pair... I then found them a few days later on ebay still with the stickers on the soles and 3 times less the price. I love these shoes as they are girly but not too pretty, I like the peep toe style and who can resist shiny patent leather!"

I actually really like these, even though I don't usually do black shoes. They look like a perfect height and I can see the shape would just go with loads of things! I sense this young lady might be a tad practical especially with the bargain she grabbed too!

Hear hear for stylish but practical people. My favourite kind!

What do you guys think of these shoes?

If you would like to take part in showing us your favourite shoes please get in touch with a few pics and a short description to the email address on the side ---->

Show me your shoes - Karen

This week's shoe volunteer is Karen from http://kandpreadme.blogspot.com/.

She says:

"These are my shoes, by Repetto.  I love them and wear them as much as I can.  I think they're the perfect shape for my feet and are flat, flat, flat... just how I like my footwear.  I'm line line for a new pair very, very soon!!  The other feet belong to my husband, who can mostly be found wearing these trainers."

I don't think you can go wrong with classic black pumps that fit your feet!

Show me your shoes - KatelynJane's

Todays shoes have kindly been donated by Katie over at KatelynJane's notebook.

She says :

"It's finally spring here and I'm able to wear my flats! I found these in Old Navy, Calgary when I was there last and can't get enough of them this year! I love the bright color, it's so primary and that's "in" this year, it seems. And I really like how they go with my skinny jeans...another thing I can't get enough of lately."

I think they look super comfortable, very relaxed but super stylish at the same time. I love yellow too, it is my favourite colour and I'm really down with coloured shoes, black just doesn't do it for me much (apart from the classics, ballet pumps or mary janes). Perfect for spring, I think Spring is my favourite season too, with all the daffs and pansies!

If you would like to show me your shoes, then just send me a pic and a small description along with it to me address, which is right over there on the right side of my blog ---------->
